Mark served 10 years in various positions in the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California, including three years on the editorial staff, and two years as editor-in-chief, of California Litigation, and five years as a member of, or advisor to, the Executive Committee of the State Bar Litigation Section. Mark's peers on the Executive Committee voted him in as Chair of the 11,000 member Litigation Section of the California State Bar for the 1995-96 term. Locally, Mark served several years in the leadership of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, including Chair of the San Diego Chapter.
